Are you looking for ways to be inspired in your Christian life? Romans 12 is filled with answers of purpose, fulfillment, and love, rooted in the grace and mercies of God. Grab your Bible, and consider with us 9 Christian Inspiration Tips From Romans 12.
Let’s begin!
1. start by reading romans 12:1-2
Romans 12:1-2
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”

The second tip for Christian inspiration has to do with ourselves, and how we live.
2. Live sacrificially everyday
Imagine, for a moment, a bride standing before her husband-to-be. She offers her vows in a beautiful ceremony, committing herself to him, forsaking all others. They become husband and wife.
But now, imagine that after the wedding, she only thinks of, speaks to, and loves her husband once a week. On Sunday morning, she says, “I love you, dear,” but for the rest of the week, she lives as if she were single, as if she had no husband at all.

What if true worship isn’t just what we do on Sundays, but how we live sacrificially every moment of every day?
In the Christian life, we are called to offer every part of ourselves as an act of worship to God. This requires great sacrifice—true worship is a life surrendered. It is when we give our lives to the Lord completely that we experience Christian inspiration.
3. Reflect Inward
- In what ways is your Christian life like the once-a-week bride? What can you do to change this?
- How can you begin offering every aspect of yourself to Christ in a more sacrificial way?
- What are some of the mercies of God in Romans 1-11 that can motivate you to live sacrificially?
- In what ways can you use your home as an avenue for everyday worship?
When we live sacrificially—whether at home, in church, or in the workplace—we worship God through the relationships we build. Every devotional, every meal shared, every room prepared, and every conversation is an opportunity to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to Him.
4. Worship in Light of the mercies of god
In the book of Romans, chapters 1-11 display the glorious mercies of God toward His people. Chapters 12-16 follow with instructions for Christian living, based on these mercies.
This is why Paul says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God…” His instructions are grounded in everything he has previously written about God’s mercy, manifested through the work of Christ.

Paul begins with, “I beseech you therefore,” showing that his exhortation is built upon what he has already written.
So, what are these mercies of God?
5. Remember the power of God toward sinners
Paul first highlights humanity’s desperate need for God’s mercy.
Romans 1:16-18
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”
Without the gospel, we would remain under God’s wrath. The power of the gospel lies in its ability to save sinners who would otherwise face judgment for their disobedience.
6. Summarize the mercies of god in romans
In the first eleven chapters of Romans, Paul lays out the vastness of God’s mercies, including:
- Justification – We are declared righteous by faith. (Romans 3:23-24)
- Reconciliation – We were once enemies of God, but He has brought us near. (Romans 5:10)
- Freedom from Sin’s Power – Sin no longer reigns over us. (Romans 6:14)
- Adoption – We are now children of God. (Romans 8:15)
- Future Glory – Nothing can separate us from God’s love. (Romans 8:38-39)
These mercies should lead us to offer our entire lives as a living sacrifice—not just worshiping on Sundays, but in every moment.

7. Glorify God in Doxology
After unfolding these truths, Paul bursts into praise:
Romans 11:33-36
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.”
The more we grasp the mercies of God, the more our hearts should overflow with worship.
8. Understand what a Living sacrifice is
In the Old Testament, sacrifices were placed on an altar and consumed. But Paul calls us to be living sacrifices—fully surrendered and continually offering ourselves to God. This includes:
- Dying to self daily (Luke 9:23)
- Living for God’s glory, not our own (1 Corinthians 10:31)
- Honoring God with our bodies, thoughts, and actions (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
9. Respond
Paul’s doxology overflows with awe at God’s mercy. Does your heart respond the same way?
Take a moment to reflect:

- What specific mercies of God stir your heart today?
- In what ways can you offer your life as a sacrifice to Him this week?
God’s mercies are overwhelming, and the reasonable response is worship in every aspect of life.
10. Practice hospitality
Paul later writes in this same chapter:
Romans 12:13
“Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.”

Hospitality is a practical way to live a life of sacrifice. It means opening our homes, sharing meals, and welcoming others—especially those in need. This reflects the generous love of God.
True hospitality isn’t about perfection or impressing others but about offering ourselves in service, following the example of Christ:
Romans 15:7
“Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.”
When we welcome others with generosity and kindness, we mirror God’s mercy. Hospitality, then, becomes an act of sacrificial worship.
